Frequently asked questions
What does this calculator estimate?
It estimates the full monthly cost of sending AI-agent-generated email while preserving inbox placement: ESP fees, list-hygiene verification, warmup tooling, DMARC/deliverability monitoring, dedicated IPs, and human review time.
Why is deliverability cost separate from the ESP bill?
The raw send cost is only part of the story. Bounces, spam complaints, and low engagement hurt sender reputation, which lowers inbox placement and increases churn. List hygiene, warmup, and monitoring are insurance against that.
How is inbox placement estimated?
We start from a baseline of 82% inbox placement for a well-configured sender. The chosen provider, list-hygiene bounce reduction, warmup tool, engagement rates, dedicated IP, and complaint rate all adjust the estimate up or down. It is directional, not a guarantee.
When should I use a dedicated IP?
Dedicated IPs are usually worth it above ~50k emails/month or when your reputation matters more than cost. They isolate you from other senders but require warmup and monitoring.
What counts as a high complaint rate?
Above 0.3% is generally risky. Above 0.5% can trigger blocks at major mailbox providers. Aim for <0.1% for newsletters and <0.2% for SDR outbound.
Does AI-generated email hurt deliverability?
Not directly. But AI agents can send at scale with inconsistent quality, triggering spam complaints or irrelevant content. Good list hygiene, human review, and rate limits protect reputation.
Estimates are directional. Deliverability costs vary by sender reputation, list quality, and industry. Provider rates are representative mid-market prices; update them with your actual quotes.
